The Amazigh-speaking series “Baba Ali” returned to the top of the list of Amazigh productions during the current month of Ramadan, with high levels of viewership and daily follow-up on the Amazigh channel (the eighth) and on social media.
For the third year in a row, the series was able to crowd out, and even surpass, some of the dialectical productions on the “Moroccan Trend” thanks to its simplicity and its events that revolve around a simple man in his relationship with his family and societal surroundings, inside a Amazigh village, and through various scenes and old stories in a dramatic style in a distinctive comic template. The richness of the Amazigh heritage is made.
The story of the work, inspired by the legendary “Ali Baba” character, also highlights the status of the “ruling” woman in Amazigh history, as well as the manifestations of coexistence and religious tolerance between Jews and Muslims prevailing in Amazigh society. The events of the third part of the series were filmed in the “Tefnut” area.

Regarding the change of the “Ijokak” region, which witnessed the filming of the first and second parts, Mustafa Ashour, the director of the series, said in a statement to “The Amazigh World”: “There are two main reasons behind choosing the Tefnut region. Beautiful in Morocco, and secondly, the story forced a change in the original decoration, due to the migration of the tribe to another, safer area.
And about the secret of the success of the third part of the series, Asawer attributes to “the same reasons for the success of the first and second parts, a beautiful scenario by the writer and actor Ahmed Intama, a great and wonderful technical team and a professional technical team under the supervision of the experienced Warda Company.”
And he adds that “the translation (Sotitraj) helped attract many segments of non- Amazigh speakers to watch the episodes of the series, which he considered another success, also highlighting that” the Baba Ali series is no longer just an Amazigh series “Susi”, but rather it has become a television phenomenon inside the country. And all over the world.”
Mustafa Asawer pointed out that the most prominent events of the third part are represented in “changing the decoration and the participation of a large number of actors, about one hundred and forty, and the presence of new names such as Zahra al-Mahboul, Hassan Aktir, Ahmed Nasih ..” adding that “the surprise of the third part is the artist Ibrahim al-Hanoudhi.” .

The scenario of the series goes back to the actor and screenwriter Ahmed Ntama, with the participation of a group of well-known stars in the Amazigh artistic scene who excelled in performing their roles, such as Al-Hussein Bardaouz, Ibrahim Hamata, Abdel-Latif Atef, Al-Zahia Al-Zahiri, Abdel-Rahman Akzoum, Al-Tayeb Akdem, Mustafa Al-Saghir, Amina Ashawi, Fatima Al-Sousi, Khadija Skrein, Ahmed Nasih, Ahmed Aweinti, Al-Arabi Al-Hadaj...
