Algeria receives the official copy of the inclusion of the rai song in the world heritage
Today, Thursday, Algeria received the original copy of the certificate for the inclusion of the rai song as an Algerian singing in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Algeria currently has nine items inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ammar Balani, said during the handover ceremony that Algeria "enhanced its balance with the tenth element after registering each of Ahleil Guarara, and the dress of the Tlemcen wedding (distress), including the "thread of the soul", and the celebration of the week with the angle of Sidi Hajj Belkacem in Timimoun, and the children of Sidi Sheikh ( fantasia) in eggs, cubiba begant and other elements".
He added: "Our celebration today of opinion confirms the importance that the President of the Republic attaches to the nation's identity and its cultural heritage by keenness to promote it and protect it from extinction, which he recently emphasized on the sidelines of the ceremony honoring Algerian women on March 8, 2023, when he called for protecting the Algerian heritage from imitation and attempts to appropriate it." on its components by the falsifiers of history.
He continued, "This recognition is the result of the continuous and determined efforts of the higher authorities in Algeria, with the aim of promoting and introducing the culture of Algeria's rich heritage, and highlighting its great contribution to world culture."
