A group of youth of the Amazigh movement in Tangiers initiated a preliminary consultative meeting to study the reality and future of the Amazigh militant action in the city.
According to a communiqué issued by the meeting, the conferees reviewed “the developments in the national and international public scene, related to the struggles of the Amazigh movement, and its independent view of all cultural, political and social issues, in their local, regional, national and international dimensions.”
The participants in the meeting announced the establishment of the “Coordination of the Youth of the Amazigh Movement in Tangier,” considering it a preparatory committee for future organizational work.

On the other hand, the Coordination Committee praised the royal decision to approve the Amazigh New Year, an official national holiday for which it is paid, and considered it “a strategic decision that supports the orientations of the Amazigh movement in linking Morocco’s past with its future, as a culturally, linguistically, religiously, politically and intellectually diverse Amazigh nation.” It is consistent with the central principle of the Amazigh movement in Morocco, “Unity in Diversity.”
