Khenchela prepares the 11th edition of the Chaouie song festival
The wilaya of Khenchela is preparing to host the 11th edition of the local festival of music and song Chaouie, scheduled for the period from August 26 to 29.
Placed under the slogan "the chaouie song, a message from the ancestors", this edition will see the participation of 16 artists, as well as 8 groups and associations specialized in this authentic artistic genre, declared this Sunday to the APS, the commissioner of the festival. , Mr. Mohamed Alouani.
“This event will also give rise to a competition which will bring together some 25 young artists from the wilayas of Khenchela, Batna, Oum El Bouaghi, Tébessa, Biskra and Souk Ahras, who will compete for prizes in folk and modern song of the chaoui genre” a- he added.
The opening ceremony will be held on August 26 at the Maison de la culture Ali-Souaihi in Khenchela. It will be marked by the presentation of a choreographic show highlighting the history of Chaoui song.
04 concerts, a scientific forum on the Chaouie song and an exhibition are also planned for this occasion.
