Two prominent inventions crown Morocco with two gold medals and major prizes at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Canada 1943
After the brilliance of the Atlas Lions in the World Cup in Qatar, and the Atlas Lionesses in Australia, and last Tuesday the Moroccan runner Soufiane Bakkali won the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, here are the youth of the Kingdom of Morocco, members of the research and development laboratory Smart Lab of the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences EMSI, they continue In the field of brilliance in the field of invention and innovation in Canada, where they won two gold medals and two major awards in the International Competition for Invention and Innovation iCAN 2023, which was held from 23 to 26 in Toronto, Canada.

This massive international science event, organized by the Toronto International Association for Innovation and Advanced Skills (TISIAS), in collaboration with the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), the World Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) and the Innovation Collaborative Initiative (ICO), witnessed the participation of 50 countries from all over the world and displayed more than 800 inventions and innovations, as it constituted an opportunity to highlight Morocco’s efforts and its scientific status, which was embodied in the crowning of the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences through the Research, Development and Innovation Laboratory “SMARTiLab” once again with two gold medals for two very important innovations that the school submitted. It has a smart sewage treatment plant and a meat quality verification system.
The two gold medals and the two major awards were crowned by the following inventions:
• Invention of the smart wastewater treatment plant (SGWT):
It aims to recycle wastewater by developing an innovative solution based on a green, smart and mobile wastewater treatment plant. This plant features a compact, robust and easy-to-transport design with adaptable treatment depending on the quality and type of water to be treated.

• SMT meat quality verification system:
This innovation enables the provision of a simple and quick solution to control the quality of any type of meat. The innovative system, with its intelligent design, consists of mechanisms to analyze the quality of meat, through specific units integrated into the system.
The inventions of the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences, which won the two gold medals and two Canadian special prizes in the International Competition for Invention and Innovation iCAN 2023, are the result of the collective efforts of the school’s IMCI staff (professors, researchers, students of engineering and administration) so that the school works to interact with current data and convert them into scientific ideas, and research is conducted On many media to promote the idea and measure the maturity of the project, the invention of the smart wastewater treatment plant, for example, is the result of interaction with circumstantial data and the crisis that the world is experiencing about scarcity of water, and the project to invent meat quality verification is the result of problems related to the health and safety of meat destined for consumption, especially suitable Eid al-Adha, in which there is much talk about the quality of meat.

It should be noted that the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences is very interested in research, development and innovation, as it makes great scientific efforts nationally and internationally to carry the aspirations of representing the Kingdom of Morocco in international forums and raising the index of Morocco’s presence in the international ranking,
The Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences has developed dozens of inventions that modestly but effectively contributed to the development of the Moroccan intellectual property portfolio and the improvement of Morocco's ranking in the Global Innovation Classification (Global Classification of Innovations), as the school won 85 awards and medals at the national and international levels. Obtained through notable participations in ICAN Canada, Silicon Valley USA and China International Innovation Fair, ISIF of Turkey, INTARG of Poland, EuroInvent of Romania, ASIANINVENT of Singapore, ITE of UK, Archimede of Prussia, and IDRIS Malaysia and other international competitions and exhibitions.
