The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui, said that the Ministry, in coordination with universities, has implemented a set of measures to integrate the Amazigh language into Moroccan universities.
Mirawi explained, in his answer to the movement team in the House of Representatives, according to “snrtnews,” that this is done by adopting five bachelor’s courses in basic studies, three master’s courses, and 14 bachelor’s courses in education specializations, each of which includes a special unit on language and culture. The Minister indicated that a national model course will be created in the bachelor’s degree in education, specializing in primary education - the Amazigh language. Which was approved at the Higher School of Education and Training in Oujda, as well as at the Higher School of Teachers in Rabat, with the prospect of adopting this course in both Berrechid and Agadir, starting from the next university season.
The Minister stressed that the “Amazigh component” will be of great importance by including this “cultural newcomer” in the presentational units related to national identity, through formative units concerned with Amazigh history, language and culture, and by encouraging scientific research in fields related to the Amazigh language by creating structures for research into this. the field.
Merawi stressed that the Ministry attaches great importance to accelerating the pace of integrating the Amazigh language into the system of higher education, scientific research and innovation, based on the requirements of the Constitution, which considers Amazigh an official language of the state. It serves as a common balance for all Moroccans without exception.
