Fifteen young women compete for the title of “Miss Amazigh 2974” in Agadir
Fifteen young women are competing for the title of “Miss Amazigh,” which is expected to be held this January in special celebrations for the Amazigh New Year 2974 in Agadir, in the presence of a number of associational and cultural events and those interested in cultural and artistic affairs in the city.
The Ishraqat Amal Association, which organizes the ceremony, stated that this competition “will not be like other beauty competitions, as it is not limited to physical standards only as much as it is based on other components, including general culture, and the strong presence of the Amazigh personality, in addition to beauty and its harmony with the distinctive Amazigh dress.” And with clothes and jewelry.”
This competition has been held for years, as one of the most important annual competitions that Moroccans, especially the Amazigh, await, and which coincides with the celebrations of the Amazigh New Year, which falls on January 14 of each year.
The Ishraqat Amal Association confirms that the Miss Amazigh competition aims to “introduce more awareness of the Amazigh culture, which contains an important cultural heritage, but suffers from a lack of financial support from the elected councils in the region.”
She pointed out that the preliminary elimination competition took place on Sunday in Agadir, December 3, in the presence of female competitors from the Marrakesh-Safi-Essaouira regions, the Guelmim-Oued Noun region and the Souss-Massa region. The association will announce at a later time surprises regarding the winner of this year’s title, her two runners-up, and the demonstration in general.
