Mohamed Sheikh Bella, head of the Regional Council of Tiznit, gave the gift in the presence of Mohamed Ahmedi, head of the Tangier-Assilah Prefecture Council, Abdelhak Arkhaoui, head of the Chamber of Traditional Industry in the Souss-Massa region, Mohamed Bouderbal, head of the Rural Affairs Department in the Tiznit prefecture, and Mohamed Ben Aaramo, rapporteur of the Agricultural Chamber of Souss-Massa. The head of the Regional Council of Tiznit, Mohamed Sheikh Bella, said that this demonstration aims to market local products in the region by introducing the various qualifications that it abounds, with the aim of encouraging Moroccan citizens and foreign tourists to visit the city of Tiznit.And the rest of the territorial groups of the region.
The exhibition, organized under the slogan: “Cooperation and solidarity for the victims of the 2023 earthquake,” is considered, according to the Regional Council of Tiznit, a solidarity engagement in the national strategy for recovery from the damage and reconstruction of the earthquake of September 8, 2023, in the regions of Taroudant and Al Haouz, as the earthquake caused severe damage that paralyzed all activities. Social and economic life in the region in general, and the activities of local cooperatives stopped due to the destruction of the buildings and infrastructure that they used. These cooperatives also experienced a massive loss of their resources and a direct impact on the members of the cooperatives and their workers, whether through the loss of their loved ones or personal injuries, which stopped their effective participation in cooperative activity in these areas.”
The organization of the exhibition, in which the participating cooperatives will allocate a portion of their income to the victims of the earthquake, comes within the context of solidarity and as part of the national strategy for recovery from the damage and remnants of the earthquake.
The exhibition is also considered a mobile regional market, “expanding and modernizing all the activities of the social and solidarity economy and its field products, as it enhances the marketing capabilities of cooperatives in the region and consolidates the culture and values of fair trade and develops them through field experience and the acquisition of marketing techniques.
