complete dinosaur fossil dating back nearly 125 million years in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The fossil was found by researchers from the Natural History Museum of Payanur City, Inner Mongolia, during a periodic inspection of the Urad Banner background.
A preliminary study of bone morphology showed that the fossil belonged to Iguandon who lived in the early Cretaceous period. Dai Ruiming of the museum said the dinosaur was large and close to adulthood.

The fossilized bones will be reshaped and subjected to further study to see if they belong to a single dinosaur. If a lot of well-preserved fossils are discovered, the researchers could consider building a burial museum on the site to protect the fossils, Dai said.
It is noteworthy that the Cretaceous period, which began 137 million years ago and ended 65 million years ago, was the last era in which dinosaurs dominated the planet, and fossils from that period provide important evidence for the study of their evolution, living conditions and extinction.
It is worth noting that the Urad background banner is called the “Birthplace of Dinosaurs” in China. So far, the fossils of 19 species of dinosaurs have been found there.
