Russia intends to launch 130 satellites for the Internet of Things in 2025
Russia intends to launch in 2025 into Earth orbit 132 satellites for the Internet of Things, in implementation of the “IoT Marathon” project for the formation of a large group of satellites, according to RT.
This was stated by Yevgeny Nesterov, General Director of the Reshetnikov Information Satellite Company.
He pointed out that the idea of forming a group of satellites is based on the technology of designing a satellite as a single electronic technical device.
The project will be implemented in low Earth orbit, where the multi-satellite system will deploy the “Marathon IoT”, which will include 250 “Marathon” satellites, provided that the weight of one satellite does not exceed 50 kilograms.
Each satellite will be made using the technology of a single electronic unit in which various devices will be installed.
All satellites will be deployed in 12 orbital planes at an altitude of 750 km.
