A French woman chose an old painting to hang in her house between the kitchen and the living room, and she did not imagine, even for a moment, that she had a huge wealth without knowing that, until she suddenly decided to know the price of the painting, and it was a shock.
The woman lives in a village near the French capital, Paris, and discovered that the painting hanging next to her kitchen dates back to the Renaissance period and bears the name Christ Mocked and belongs to the Florentine painter Cimabue.
The lady thought that the painting was a religious icon and she did not care much about it, so she decided to put it between the kitchen and the living room directly above the oven, and when she showed it to an auction house, she discovered that its price amounted to 6 million dollars.
Cimabue painted 8 different scenes from the life of Christ. The painting dates back to 1280. Only two of them were found and are currently on display in the National Gallery in London.
It is scheduled that the Actyon auction house in Senlis, north of Paris, will display the painting for sale at the end of next October, and it is expected that there will be a great demand for it due to its extreme rarity.
