President of the Republic Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language: The ceremony will take place in Ghardaïa
The ceremony of the 3rd edition of the prize of the president of the republic for the literature and the Amazigh language will take place this year in Ghardaïa, announced, this Sunday, November 27, the High Commission for Amazighity, HCA.
The award ceremony for this prize instituted by presidential decree on August 19, 2020 will take place, as has been the custom since its creation, on January 12, 2023, a date which coincides with the Amazigh New Year.
The HCA recalled, in this respect, that this prize "translates the provisions of paragraph 4 of the preamble and of article 4 of the Constitution which aims to define the principles and mechanisms for the promotion and development of the Amazigh language in various areas of national life through the promotion of literary and cognitive achievements, in all the Amazigh linguistic variants in use in Algeria”. The goal is to "encourage research and creativity and their corollary qualitative benefits aimed at enriching the Amazigh language by contributing to its dissemination and promotion".
For this 3rd edition, the HCA announced that it had received 132 works and candidate works for the different sections of the Prize, in accordance with the rules of procedure. This translates, according to its manager, "a craze" and "a regularity" in the participation.
According to the details provided by the HCA, the jury, set up for this purpose, will begin, this week, "the critical reading and analysis with a view to grading the manuscripts received, taking into account the specificity of each field: literature, research in linguistics, research in heritage and research on Tamazight in the digital world”.
This jury “is mainly composed of state doctors in linguistics, cultural anthropology and literature. Its members come mainly from Algerian universities but also from representatives of some ministerial departments,” said the HCA.
