A man deciphers strange details in cave paintings dating from the Ice Age
In London, a man stunned many academics when he discovered the meaning of drawings made by men during the Ice Age.
It's a 20,000-year-old mystery that has just been solved. In Britain, a man had been wondering for some time about the meaning of details visible in ancient cave paintings. This Briton, who did not study at university, carried out his own investigation and proposed his theory to researchers, who were surprised by his deductive skills .

“ The meaning of the inscriptions on these drawings has always intrigued me and so I set out to decode them, using a similar approach to that taken by others to understand an ancient form of Greek text .”
Finally, Ben Bacon submitted his idea to a group of researchers, who pushed him to continue his investigation, this time being supported by a team of scientists. And it seems that the message left by the hunter-gatherers has finally been decoded ...
A lunar calendar
For information, the points in question were visible near animals such as fish and reindeer. Ben Bacon was therefore interested in the reproduction cycles of the latter and compared them with the number of points drawn alongside them. Bingo: ' Using today's equivalent animal birth cycles as a point of reference, the team was able to determine that the number of marks associated with Ice Age animals indicated, by lunar month, when where they were mating ,” writes The National.
