A busy week for the Agadir community to celebrate the Amazigh New Year
The territorial community of Agadir, in partnership with the civil society associations of Agadir, launched a cultural program that extends over a whole week, to celebrate the Amazigh New Year 2973 “Eid n Ennayer”.
These celebrations revived the ancient Amazigh traditions, and an occasion to introduce the Amazigh heritage to the younger generations, and to strengthen their connection to this cultural heritage.
And she considered that these celebrations are an embodiment of inherited Moroccan customs, as well as an opportunity to preserve the Amazigh culture and work to advance it as one of the components of Moroccan culture that is characterized by unity and diversity.
The paragraphs of the celebration were chosen according to the vision formulated by the Agadir Collective Council, through which it seeks to consolidate the Amazigh identity of the city by making it a cultural beacon and a global capital of Amazigh culture.
The program, which was hosted by the city's cultural complexes and major public parks, included musical performances, in addition to a number of exhibitions dedicated to Amazigh publications and a display of plastic art that celebrates the Amazigh craft.
The activities embraced by the cultural complexes in the soil of the community also included the screening of short Amazigh films, as well as round tables, which dealt with study and analysis of issues related to the Amazigh cause, including the activation of the official character of the Amazigh language.
On the 12th and 13th of January 2023, three Amazigh evenings took place, in partnership with the Timitar Association, in Agadir Oufella, Benserkaou and Tekoine.
