Scientists discover a scary creature that looks like a crocodile
The animal belongs to the "Tlattosuchian" family.
Scientists have identified a new genus of a fearsome crocodile-like creature that once hunted in what is now the Dorset Jurassic Coast.
The remains of the two-meter-long animal were discovered by fossil hunters after a series of landslides on the beach , and this "beast" was dubbed the "Charmouth crocodile".
The animal belongs to the "Tlatosochian" family, which is a sister species to the ancestors of modern crocodiles , and it is believed that it was present in the early Jurassic period .
According to geology expert Paul Davis, what distinguishes this type of crocodile is its large jaw muscles, which makes it able to effectively capture creatures that live in the water, according to the British newspaper, The Guardian.
