Watch: NASA releases an image taken by the James Webb Telescope of a star on the cusp of extinction
Yesterday, Tuesday, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) published a new image taken from the James Webb Telescope, on the sidelines of a scientific event held in Texas.
The agency says that the telescope captured the rare and transient phase of a star on the cusp of death, noting that this image is among the first images taken by the James Webb Telescope after its launch a little over a year ago.
This particular photo was taken in June of last year. The infrared rays of the James Webb telescope enable it to photograph all the dust that a star throws into space, 15,000 light-years away.
The James Webb telescope, since its launch last summer to explore the beginnings of the universe and the atmosphere of distant planets, has printed the year 2022 with exceptional images that raise hopes for great discoveries in the coming years.
