The final statement of the second national forum for Amazigh-speaking media
Under the slogan “The language of media is part of the nation’s identity, yes to fair media for Amazigh”, the “Second National Forum for Amazigh-speaking Media” was organized by the Moroccan Center for Amazigh Media, in Casablanca from 1 to 15 April 2023.
The forum was organized considering the media as an important corner for preserving the Amazigh identity and its fair and equitable presence in various aspects of public life, assessing its status in the national media, and then formulating practical proposals to do justice to it.
The forum included training sessions in the Amazigh media, and a national symposium was held on the suffering of the Amazigh-speaking media despite the constitutional demarcation.
Among the most prominent recommendations of the forum is to call on the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, and through it the Moroccan government, to cancel the books of the current public pole’s campaigns, because of the negative discrimination, shortcomings and defects it contains, and to draft new books through a participatory approach with the various actors in the sector, including civil society organizations interested in the media, and workers. sector and all those involved in it.
