The Amazigh world celebrates the official adoption of the Amazigh year 1682
The historic royal decision establishing the Amazigh year, an official national holiday to be performed, similar to Muharram’s Fatih of the Hijri year and New Year’s Eve, constituted an important turning point in the course of the Amazigh language in Morocco. The Supreme Council of October 17, 2001, and this decision was well received by the activists of the Amazigh movement, as well as all Moroccan civil and political bodies, who considered that the Amazigh issue is of concern to all Moroccans as a common national asset, and that the success of the process of activating the official character of the Amazigh language requires the involvement of all living forces.

From our position in the “Amazigh World” newspaper, we wish this decision, which is a response to our struggles for years to recognize this historic day. And listening to the voice of those who are jealous and interested in the Amazigh language, the newspaper worked to survey their opinions and interactions with this historic decision through its monthly file for this issue.
The newspaper also made an inventory of the Moroccan political parties' interaction with this important event.

Because of the newspaper's belief in the importance of this historical event, it allocated an important space for the royal decision in its French and Amazigh versions, so that we can bring the reader closer in all languages to the good responses left by the royal decision among all segments of the Arab people.
