170million year old dinosaur remains found in China
Scientists at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have found fossils of dinosaurs that lived on Earth 170 million years ago in the southwest of the country.
The Chinese “Xinhua” News Agency indicates that, according to local authorities, Chinese scientists have found, during the past two years, fossilized parts of ancient reptiles in nine sites in Yunnan Province, located in southeastern China.
Chen Jong, deputy director of the Department of Natural Resources, points out that the majority of the fossilized pieces were found after heavy rains caused erosion and erosion of the soil.
Scientists have determined that all the discovered pieces date back to the Jurassic period (201-145 million years ago). According to official statistics, since 1938, scientists have found 410 sets of fossilized dinosaur parts in the Chuxiong Autonomous Region of Yunnan Province.
