Women in the history of Egypt
In the history of ancient Egypt, women had a high and distinctive status. She was involved in political, social and religious life alongside men. Among the most prominent women of ancient Egypt, we find great queens who ruled the country with wisdom, courage and creativity. They include the Queen of Toseret, who wrested the throne from her husband Seti II, the Queen of Nefertiti, who participated in bold religious reforms with her husband Akhenaten, the Queen of Tiye, who was a strong advisor to her son Amenhotep III, the Queen of Nefertari, who was the lover and diplomatic ambassador of Ramses II, the Queen of Merit Amun, who was the first royal daughter to bear the title of 'Wife of God', and finally the Queen of Hatshepsut, who ruled Egypt for more than twenty years, erecting temples, and launching commercial campaigns. These queens are proof of the glory of Egyptian women in history.
