Numidian navy
King Masinissa was behind the establishment of a powerful naval fleet that roamed the seas, and the most powerful Numidian ship in the fleet was the “Kenkirim” type.
"Kenkirim" participated a lot in naval wars. It was about 50 meters long and between 5.30 and 7.65 meters wide, commanded by 310 sailors and a crew of 375 men. Sometimes the Numidian king himself was the one who led the naval war fleet as well as his army. And sometimes his captain deputizes him in commanding the fleet.
Masinissa's fleet was composed of "pentiers", which constituted the main type of warships that replaced the "terriers".
