Star WOH G64 1----250
WOH G64 in astronomy (in English: WOH G64) is the largest star in the Large Magellanic Galaxy, according to the list of the most well-known stars. The Large Magellanic Galaxy follows our Milky Way Galaxy and is about 170,000 light-years away from us. The radius of this giant star is about 2,000 times the diameter of the sun and it is located in the constellation Swordfish, which is seen from the southern hemisphere.

The star WOH G64 is a red supergiant, surrounded by a dense ring of dust with a radius of about 30,000 astronomical units (the distance between the Sun and Earth is 1 astronomical unit). Scientists believe that this giant star will soon explode in the form of a supernova, as it has lost three-quarters of its mass.
