This is Mrs. Greenwich, to whom Greenwich Mean Time is attributed. Before the advent of the wristwatch, you could not ask about the time like this.
Easily... but you had to pay money to this woman who sells time knowledge and she inherited this profession from her family.
Elizabeth Ruth Naomi Belville, also known as the Greenwich Time Lady, was an English businesswoman from London (5 March 1854 – 7 December 1943). She, her mother, Mary Elizabeth, and her father, John Henry, sold time to people.
This was done by setting a clock they owned to Greenwich Mean Time as it was on the Greenwich Mean Time, and then selling the time by allowing people to look at their watch in exchange for money.

Ruth Belleville's father, John Henry, had set up a service for 200 clients in 1836. Every morning John Henry would go to the Greenwich Observatory, where he worked, and set his watch to Greenwich Mean Time. Then he would set off in his car and set the wall clocks correctly for his customers who subscribed to the service.
To people by letting them look at the clock
She continued this work until the turn of the century, until 1943 AD
Note: Greenwich is a town in London to which this famous watchmaking family belongs.
