Hassan Ibrahim publishes his second collection of poems in memory of Tafsut Imazighen
It is a happy coincidence that the publication of a new book by the writer and poet Hassan Ibrahim coincides with the anniversary of Tavsut Imazighen, which is celebrated every April 20 of each year.
A book containing a collection of poetic poems under the title “Taguiet,” which means the scream.
This new book represents the third literary publication and the second “publication in the field of Amazigh poetry”... Since the author is known for his boldness and depth of thinking, each poem from this collection translates a special cry that is located in one of the themes that the writer addressed in this new publication.
If Tafsout Imazighen was a cry for self-affirmation and the de-recognition of the Amazigh identity, then we should ask ourselves as we read this new edition: Has the significance of that cry diminished, or is its effect still present and renewed?
Part of the answer to this question brings us closer to the content of the collection “Taguiet”, which invites us to search for fragments of that cry within the folds of the 16 poems contained in the Latin letters and Tifinagh, in the 96 pages that make up this new edition.
The Amazigh writer Hassan Ibrahim comes from Ksar El-Kharbat in Tinjdad, located in the Errachidia province, in the Draa-Tafilalet region. His publications include: the poetry collection “Asfafa” in 2020, and the short story collection “Ismalan n Toudret” in 2021.
For reference, the artistic painting of the book was created by the professor, visual artist, and writer Hassan Malwani, and designed by the creative Muhammad Al-Hassani.
