“The oldest ancestor of humans” lived in Jebel Irhoud in Morocco...the discovery that rewrote human history
Among the most prominent theories that have been changed by some of these discoveries is the idea that humans evolved from a single “human cradle” in East Africa about 200,000 years ago.
This history was rewritten after fossils of five early humans were found in Mount Irhoud, located in the southeast of the Kingdom, 6 years ago.
In 2017, the remains of five Homo sapiens individuals were discovered at the Jebel Irhoud site dating back 300,000 years, and are the world's oldest human remains.
This discovery refuted the previous theory that the lifespan of Homo sapiens was 200,000 years, now becoming 300,000 years.
