King Assyria-dan (1179-1133 BC).
King Assyria-dan (1179-1133 BC). 1--330
Assyria Dan I was the 83rd king of Assyria from the 11th century BC. According to the list of kings of Assyria, it was stated that he ruled for 46 years, from the year 1179 to the year 1133 BC. He succeeded to the rule of his father, Ninurta-apal-ikur. The sources spoke about him and said that he fought the Mitanni and also fought the Elamites, who were able to seize power in Babylonia and ended the rule of the Kassites. He was succeeded in power by his son Ninurta Tukulti of Assyria.
Ashur-dan I inherited the rule of the Assyrian state from his father, Ninurta-apel-ikur (1192-1180 BC). He ruled for forty-five years, making his reign the longest among the Assyrian kings. Despite this, the inscriptions dating back to his reign do not show any extensive activities. Except for some campaigns he carried out on the Babylonian-Assyrian border in the Lower Zab region. Where he captured in 1160 BC. M on cities there that belonged to Babylon. During his reign, the Elamites attacked Babylon, and the end of the Kassite rule came in 1175 BC. It seems that during his long reign, the Assyrian state was strengthening its capabilities and avoiding engaging in political and military adventures, but this era - like most long eras - ended in internal turmoil, such that neither of his two sons who succeeded him on the throne completed a single year in power, and the first was removed ( Ninurta-Tokalti-Assyria), and perhaps the second (Mutakl-Nescu) was assassinated.
