Magic Ain srew
The underground Cypress Spring - north of the Farafra Oasis in the White Desert is a natural spring of water that remains dry until any living creature approaches it, whether a human, animal, or even a bird. Then the water begins to rise in the spring gradually until it is completely filled, so you can drink, wash, and take from it what is sufficient for you, and if you decide to leave It begins to dry gradually until it disappears completely.
The strange thing about it is that any underground water source in the world pumps water day and night until it dries up completely and stops water coming out of it and dries up after a period of time. However, in Ain al-Saro, this is exactly the opposite, as it does not release its water unless any living creature approaches it, even if It was a small bird that took water to it with complete satisfaction until it left and returned to dryness.
Dr. Mahmoud Hassan, at the Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University, reveals that Al-Saru Spring is one of the magical spots in the Farafra Oasis in the New Valley, as it is a spring of underground water in the White Desert in the New Valley, north of the Farafra Oasis in Egypt, that spring that is considered a global tourist landmark from which water emerges as soon as you approach it, where the earth begins. By filling the spring with fresh water, it rises until it is completely filled, and the water floats to the ground, so you drink and bathe until when you leave it, its water recedes little by little until it dries up completely.
He pointed out that the scientific analysis of this strange phenomenon is that the earth in this region’s crust consists of a special type of soft, sensitive soil, like a piece of sponge, and this serves as a storehouse of water in the ground. When a living person approaches it and presses on the ground near it, it gushes with fresh water.
This characteristic is enjoyed only by cypress without the slightest spot in the world.
Agricultural engineer Ahmed Hussein explains: “The eye turned everything around it from yellow in this desert to green in the circular palm trees in addition to other crops, making it a green oasis and a destination for tourists to enjoy the stunning views and fresh groundwater.”
Going to this spring is not difficult at all in the white desert, but it only requires a four-wheel drive car and a guide from the people of the region.
The reserve’s administration had finished preparing the ponds for the new spring in Ain al-Sarru, in partnership with the local residents and the youth of Farafra in building the ponds. This is after the new spring erupted from the western side. These basins help in collecting water and flowing from one basin to another for use in safaris and water supply, as well as to provide drinking water for animals and birds in the region.
Muhammad Dawi, one of the organizers of safari trips in the oases, said that the water dried up from the spring two years ago, and those in charge of the White Desert Reserve sought, at that time, to clean the spring, but the water did not rise again, noting that this spring is one of the most famous tourist attractions.
