5galaxies in the Pegasus constellation
James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) image of Stephan's Quintet
It is a group of 5 galaxies that can be seen with the naked eye in the Pegasus constellation in the form of a bright spot. It consists of four galaxies, and it is the first galaxy cluster to be discovered in history and one of the most beautiful, and it is about 300 million light years away from us. The first person to observe it in detail was the French scientist Édouard Stephan in 1877 from his observatory in Marseille, France.
This group of galaxies is considered the most extensively studied group of galaxies. The brightest galaxy in the group is spiral galaxy 7320 NGC, which appears to contain a dense hydrogen II region and appears in the form of red spherules in which active stars arise.
