Priest Ptah-mai and his family
The high priest of the god Ptah, or the greatest master of craftsmen, as he was called in ancient Egyptian, indicating that the god Ptah - to whom this position relates to worship - was considered a patron and protector of craftsmen. The headquarters of the High Priest of Ptah was located in Memphis, the capital of Egypt in the Old Kingdom, and this god had a huge temple dedicated to him in this region.
From his tomb in Saqqara, there is a very magnificent statue in the Berlin Museum representing the priest Ptahmai
He was the custodian of the king’s property and the bearer of his seals
He was a priest in the temple of Amun, so he appears to have a shaved head, as is the custom of priests
On his left is his wife, Hatshepsut, with her arm around her husband...
On the right is his eldest daughter, “Aini Honey,” and under his feet are his two other daughters...
The statue is a masterpiece and shows the spirit of the Egyptian family connected by a bond of love and affection.....
The wonderful note is:
The Egyptian artist who sculpted this statue placed the head of the family ahead of the rest of his family
In reference to the fact that the head of the family is the leader of this wonderful Egyptian family
