Ouarzazate hosts a study day on “Oral Heritage and Knowledge Transfer in Amazigh Culture”
The House of Oral Heritage “Tigmi n Wawal” is organizing a study day on the topic “Oral Heritage and the Transfer of Knowledge in Amazigh Culture: Arts of Speech, History and Cinema” today, Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 10 am to 5 pm, at Dar Mouna, Ait Ben Haddou Palace. , 29 km from Ouarzazate.
The study day seeks to explore the dynamics of Amazigh orality through a range of different academic fields, including history, cinema and literature, and is an opportunity to deepen knowledge of Amazigh oral practices and their representation in various media.
The study day will be marked by the participation of Ms. Aisha Ait Berri, Doctor of Arts and Civilizations, with the topic: “Rituals and Oral Heritage of Ait Sakhman, Marriage Ceremonies: A Practice in Transformation,” and Ms. Daniela Merola, Laboratory of Languages and Cultures of North Africa and the Diaspora - National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations ( INALCO), Paris, with the topic: “Arts of Speech in the Environmental Discourse of Amazigh Visual Media,” in addition to the topic: “Oral Heritage in the Writings of the Mustazighen during the Colonial Period,” presented by Mr. Mustafa Al-Qadiri, Professor of Contemporary History at Mohammed V University in Rabat.
