Monster creatures have inhabited the earth for thousands of years, eating green and dry land
"Argentine farmer discovers four ancient Glyptodon fossils While he was tending to his cattle, Argentine farmer Juan de Dios Sota made an important archaeological discovery. Beneath his land were fossils of two massive creatures resembling ancient armadillos, known as Glyptodons. Sota alerted archaeologists, who then discovered two additional Glyptodon fossils in... nearby, bringing the total to four.
These fossils, estimated to be thousands of years old, were previously hidden next to a riverbed exposed by recent drought conditions, and experts suggest that the glyptodon family, all facing the same direction, may have been a family group.
These large creatures lived on Earth for thousands of years and became extinct, most likely due to predators such as the terror bird and early human hunters. Ancient humans valued glyptodons for their meat and large, protective shells, which could reach about five feet in height and were strong enough to deflect bullets. Their bodies were also covered in bony plates called osteoderms, providing additional defense against predators. This discovery provides new insights into the life of prehistoric glyptodons and highlights the rich historical layers beneath Argentine soil.
