This person, with the appearance and clothing of a vagabond, is none other than “Grigori Perelman,” a Russian scientist who is one of the most famous contemporary mathematicians. He managed to solve the mathematical problem known as the “Poincaré Conjecture,” by the French scientist “Poin Carré.”
Grigory Yakovlevich Perelman (Russian: Григорий Яковлевич Перельман), born June 13, 1966 to a Jewish family in St. Petersburg, also known as Krisha Perelman, is a mathematician who surprised the world by being able to solve the enormously complex mathematical problem known as the Poincaré conjecture. As a result, he was nominated for the Fields Medal, but he rejected it, justifying that he never felt that he belonged to this community, even after the strenuous attempts of John Ball, President of the International Mathematical Union.
Which is considered one of the most famous and complex mathematical problems that eluded all subsequent mathematicians, and the ambiguity continued for more than a century between 1904 and 2006 AD without proof, until this genius solved it in detail 102 years later, which necessitated his being crowned with the “Fields” Medal of Science, and the Third Millennium Prize and its value. The cash amount of "one million US dollars", but he rejected it and all the prizes,

On March 18, 2010, he announced that he had met the criteria according to which he was entitled to the first prize of the twenty-first century, which amounted to one million US dollars for his solution of the Poincaré conjecture. However, he apologized and returned it on July 1, 2010, explaining that his contribution to proving the Poincaré conjecture was no better than an attempt. American mathematician Richard Hamilton, who initially proposed a program to solve it, said: “The main reason is my disagreement with the elected mathematical community. “I don’t like their decisions, I consider them unfair.”
In 1996 he won one of the ten prestigious European Mathematical Society prizes.
He justified this by saying that he never felt that he belonged in this crazy world, full of fools and sycophants!!
He currently lives the life of the simple and poor in the city of St. Petersburg.
