The Shiva Hindu religion is the dominant religion in the country, and it had sovereignty and official status in the previous monarchy before the democracy that came and abolished the official religion and gave every person the freedom to believe as they wished. Hindus constitute 81.19% of the total population (29,192,480).
There are a number of followers of the Buddhist religion, 8.21%, and the followers of Buddhism are concentrated in (the city of Limbani).
Islam spread to Nepal through India with Arab traders, and the number of Muslims in Nepal reaches 5.09%. Muslims are present in all parts of the country and have their own preaching centers, Islamic schools, and widespread mosques. They also have Islamic preachers and thinkers.
