The Amazigh Azawad Tuareg people in northern Mali are subjected to genocide and displacement by extremist terrorist groups, as well as by a group of mercenaries affiliated with the Russian Wagner mercenaries, who have sowed terror. And murder and looting in the Azawad region in northern Mali and in the Azawad region in western Niger.
This worrying situation, which became more dangerous after the Wagner Group assumed government security duties in the Republic of Mali after the recent military coup that took place in the country, which was the reason for France's withdrawal from the region and the decline of its interests.
But we must take into account that the national resistance of the Tuareg people against the French invasion of the Sahara lasted for many decades and then culminated in a clash with the armies of the newly established states, which were created by the French colonial policy in the region.
The Tuareg fighters resisted firmly and in the spirit of national resistance, in order to determine their destiny and liberate their people and their lands from dependence, submission, discrimination, persecution, exclusion and decay. The list at the time, which resulted in the emergence of terrorist and mercenary groups serving the interests of the Arab Baathist regimes in North Africa and at the same time ensuring the presence of French forces to protect their interests in the region, including the depletion of natural resources.
In 2012, the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad, with the participation of all the honorable Tuareg in northern Mali, declared the independence of the Republic of Azawad, but this independence was not recognized by any neighboring country, any African country, or any country represented in the United Nations, and the conflict remained between Azawad, Mali, France and Algeria. . And the region turned into a battleground between the mercenary terrorist groups that invaded the region and the Azawad movements, and between the French forces and the armies of Mali and Niger, and today the Russian Wagner Group, which has become controlling the Malian government, joins the battle.
This congested situation led to the destabilization of the security and stability of the region, especially after the Algerian regime was able to introduce the Wagner Group, which succeeded in its coup in Chad, to trigger another coup in Mali. Britain, the United States and the African free nations control their destiny and their natural resources.
We know very well that the Algerian military regime has always tried to undermine the stability of the Kingdom of Morocco and its territorial integrity and territorial integrity, through its various policies. The consolidation of extremist groups and armed mercenaries that sow murder, looting and terror in the Sahara, including terrorist militias mercenaries of the so-called Polisario. Where this terrorist militia has become more active on the Algerian, Mauritanian and Azawadian lands and in coordination with terrorist groups affiliated with or loyal to the Algerian regime, they block roads on citizens and commit crimes against the Tuareg, including killing, burning, displacing and looting the Azawadians.
This dangerous move that is taking place in the Sahara will have serious repercussions on the will of the Azawad Amazigh people for independence and on the security and stability of Mauritania, Morocco, Libya, Senegal, Niger and sub-Saharan countries if we do not move quickly to consolidate our strategic policies and confront this danger. Which is approaching our borders every day at a time when we are affected by what is happening in the world and did not pay attention to what is happening in the vicinity.
And one of the correct decisions that we must take as a Moroccan people with its Amazigh and African dimension is to stand in solidarity with the Azawad Amazigh people in deciding their fate and recognizing their independence, which will help eliminate terrorist groups and their activities in the region and cut the way for the Russian Wagner Group, which has become controlling the Malian government. As well as isolating the Algerian military regime and the Polisario from entering the Azawad-Mauritanian lands, so as not to be a training ground for them.
We are in a changing world and events alternately alternate, even if we do not take the right and strict decisions towards our interests and enact strong policies based on firm foundations that serve the national interest. Including this independent initiative that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples of Morocco and Azawad, and that restores the historical, social, cultural and economic ties that unite us and enhances the stability of Morocco and Azawad and unites its peoples.
