A few days ago, one of the state's public channels received a Moroccan citizen on the occasion of reaching millions of viewers on YouTube, not because he invented something new or emerged in a field of work and production or defended a just cause or made a sacrifice for the sake of humans or even animals, but only because He danced jerky next to his truck.

To talk about this citizen in social networks, this is normal, because the criterion for success in those networks is not the importance of the content but the number of followers, and this is why vanity dominates everything else, but for a public channel to receive it and present it as a model of success poses more than one problem.
Public channels, just like the school, must set an example by presenting national and human experiences that stimulate creativity, work and production, whether inside or outside the country, as they play the role of inspiring young people to find their way in life and work with enthusiasm for a higher goal, which is certainly not It is presented by the aforementioned citizen, who was summoned not because in his profession he dug many wells in marginal areas, but only because he got millions of views thanks to a dance of a few minutes.
The hero on YouTube is no longer the one who has done a miraculous, useful or enjoyable act, but only the one who has achieved a high follow-up rate, even if it is by taking off his clothes, showing his ugliness, uttering some profane and abusive words, turning words and pronouncing them incorrectly, or cursing and cursing others, or Practice terror and preaching hatred, or just jerky dancing. An influential person is the most exciting, and nothing excites more than meaningless trifles.
In the same week, the media told us about Moroccans who excelled in many fields, but did not receive television reception, including the young Moroccan woman who excelled in the Math Olympiad abroad and ranked first, and among them is the Moroccan citizen who invented a car that runs on green hydrogen, and among them are Moroccan women who excel as the best influential women In North Africa and the Middle East, and many others.
Thus, it seems that excellence and success in the sectors of practical life, innovation and creativity no longer arouse the interest of people and the media, as the wave of insignificance has placed those who are less talented and less important on the throne of success and fame.

Transferring the standards of success through trivialities from social networks to official media channels is a reckless act and is not a matter of media openness, because imitation of mediocrity and transforming it into a model of success spoils the media landscape and negatively affects the formation of media professionals, without talking about the negative impact on the minds of citizens. And their view of the media function and the value of the work itself.
Practitioners of official professional media must maintain the principles and values of professionalism, the first of which is to respect viewers and work on framing, educating and informing them without falling into the trap of insignificance, which has become a tidal wave, but it can be resisted with purposeful, upscale and responsible media.
