The Criterion Channel – “The Battle of Algiers” is among the 50 best international films
A famous American platform has ranked “The Battle of Algiers” among the list of top 50 international films, as interesting and useful viewing options. The Battle of Algiers, a film by director Gillo Pontecorvo, released in 1966, has just entered the history of Algerian and world cinema.
According to American newspapers, the famous streaming service The Criterion Channel has chosen a list of the best films that have won international awards such as the Oscars, Golden Globes and others.
And the introduction to the film “The Battle of Algiers” stated: “You know you've made a realistic war film when the Pentagon studies your film for tactics. In fact, “The Battle of Algiers” is so realistic it makes “Saving Private Ryan” look like a Disney movie.”
Remember that the story of the film takes place mainly between 1954 and 1957. It takes place, as its title indicates, the battle of Algiers, which opposed the French army to the separatists of the National Liberation Front ( FLN) during the Algerian war.

The young man, "Karim Farahna", says about his project: "The film is of high quality and with vivid colors, unlike the old black and white version, of poor quality."

Karim is currently working on the coloring of the film “Dar Al-Subaitar”. He hopes that his efforts will find an echo and that the films will be broadcast on Algerian channels in color.
