The Association of the Amazigh Women’s Voice “Amsli” organized a training course on “Exchange of experiences in the field of rationalizing storage and consumption of water and combating climate changes between traditional practices and modern technologies” in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, and exactly in the city of Al Hoceima on 22 and 23 October 2022.
The training course, which was held within the framework of “the project to combat climate change and enhance the resilience of the Amazighs through preserving the argan tree and how to use cultural practices to protect water resources and preserve the environment”, which was launched in partnership with the PAWANKA Fund in Rabat, on October 23, 2021, aims to review The current situation of the risks of the increasing vulnerability of water resources in Morocco, with the invocation of modern technologies and means to confront the repercussions of this situation; Contribute to awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns aimed at returning to the use of Berber cultural practices to protect water sources and to combat the repercussions of climate change.
A group of civil and civil actors in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, who are linked to environmental protection in general and to the preservation of water resources in particular, participated in the interactive meeting.
The course program included two presentations and an interactive workshop, the first presentation revolving around: “The repercussions of drought on the current situation of water resources in Morocco, Al Hoceima Province as a model. While the second presentation dealt with: “The call for rational management of water in Morocco according to our cultural heritage represented by the various ancient Amazigh regimes in this field.”

The interactive workshop organized by the association in coordination with the Moulay Moahed Association for Amazigh Theatre, with the support of pawanka and with the participation of girls and children of Ait Hudhayfa, was devoted to Al Hoceima on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the headquarters of the Youth House under the slogan “Berber traditional practices for the sustainable use of water resources”, to sensitize children to the dangers resulting from Poor water management and offering traditional alternatives to ensure the contribution of civil society in rationalizing drinking water consumption, irrigation and preserving the environment
To complement the project program, the association intends to organize a meeting in order to evaluate the results of the project with representatives of all participants and participants in the work of its implementation in the three regions. This will be done during a final workshop, the date and place of which will be determined later.
It is worth mentioning that, immediately after the election of the new office of the Association of the Voice of Amazigh Women “Amsli” on September 4, 2022, he set out to prepare an emergency plan to complete the stages of the implementation of the “project to combat climate change and enhance the resilience of the Amazigh and Amazigh women by preserving the argan tree and how to use cultural practices to protect water resources.” Preserving the environment”, which was launched in partnership with the PAWANKA Fund, by organizing a communication meeting on the launch of the project and the exchange of experiences with representatives and representatives of civil society in the three target areas (Draa-Tafilalet; Souss-Massa; Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima);

An interactive workshop was also organized on ways to conserve water resources and the argan tree in Draa Tafilalet; On November 20, 2021, in addition to a meeting on February 19, 2022 on the same topic in the Mesti community in the Sidi Ifni region.
