Annaba: An Amazigh language teacher denounces the unhealthy game of education officials at the local level
National and official language, but its teaching is opposed by local “3issaba (gangs)”. The teaching of the Amazigh language is obviously not welcome in certain regions of the country where individuals, having reached positions of responsibility in the education sector, are waging a real battle.
What is happening in the wilaya of Annaba is proof of this. Indeed, a teacher of the Amazigh language, assigned to the Ziri Omar school in this wilaya, tells his clavaire and denounces the unhealthy game of officials of the direction of education at the local level.
According to him, the latter were not satisfied to prevent, by multiple subterfuges the constitution of groups of pupils following courses in Tamazight, but push him downright to the resignation. “For 5 years, I have had no students and no classes. The problems escalated over the past year when a teacher threatened me outright. Three days later, the directorate of education began to apply salary deductions (about 30 million centimes were withdrawn from me)", denounces this teacher who has not found an interlocutor, specifying that he does not does not benefit from "housing or catering".
By issuing this cry of distress, the teacher wants to draw the attention of the Ministry of Education which, it seems, is completely ignoring the teaching of the Amazigh language in violation of the Constitution which obliges the authorities to promote it. . The call is also addressed to the High Commission for Amazighity, which seems to have been put on hold since 2019 for unknown reasons.
