Pictures of rural political detainee Nasser Zefzafi invaded cities and capitals all over the world, in a wide solidarity campaign launched by Amnesty International.
Many activists around the world called for the immediate release of rural political prisoner Nasser Zefzafi, and many forms of solidarity were organized with his case and the issues of the country's countryside.
Amnesty International launched an international campaign “Write for Rights” for the sake of solidarity and support for human rights defenders. The campaign launched on October 7 and will continue until December 10, when the world celebrates International Human Rights Day.
Amnesty chose the rural activist Nasser Zefzafi at the head of those, along with Shahnewaz Chowdury from Bangladesh, Dorgelesse Nguessan from Cameroon, Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara from Cuba, Zineb Redouane from France, a young cartoonist and mechanical engineer. Chow Hang-Tung from Hong Kong, Vahid Afkari from Iran, Yren Rotela & Mariana Sepulveda from Paraguay, Aleksandra Skochilenko from Russia, and Cecillia Chimbiri, Joanah Mamombe & Netsai Marova from Zimbabwe.
In a press release by Amnesty International about the honor, it said: “This honor aims to acknowledge the key role that human rights defenders play in bringing about positive change in society by promoting and consolidating human rights values and protecting them through peaceful means and standing up to injustice.”
The same statement added that the organization "renews its call to the Moroccan regime to take concrete measures to release the rural political prisoner, Nasser Zefzafi, and to put an end to the harassment of human rights defenders."
The Freedom and Human Rights Organization, known as FHRO, and Amnesty International, the Netherlands branch, are organizing an important meeting in the capital, Amsterdam, to talk about the rural political prisoner, Nasser Al-Zafzafi, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
