Paris will become the first city in the world with flying taxis
Five bases will open in the Paris region by 2024. Right in time for the Olympic Games to serve as a showcase for France as the homeland of new forms of mobility.
Refractory Gauls? Many French people have the feeling that their country appears abroad as a nation of Gauls resistant and allergic to innovation. Let these French people reassure themselves, since Paris should be the first city in the world where flying taxis will enter service. Thank you 2024 Olympics.

Three lines. The Volocity model from the German startup Volocopter is currently  performing test flights at the Pontoise aerodrome. The objective: to obtain certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency ( EASA ) within two years, which is essential for carrying passengers on board.
Prices similar to an Uber ride. With a deadline set for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, these taxi services should initially operate flights on three separate lines: Roissy <=> Le Bourget, Le Bourget <=> Austerlitz and Issy-les-Moulineaux <=> Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole.
As Jean-Christophe Drai, commercial director of Volocopter France, explains to Le Figaro, the races should first be very expensive (nearly 200 euros) then “ in the long term, the objective is to align with the prices practiced by Uber”.

90,000 jobs. According to the roadmap of Volocopter and the RATP group, a dozen vertiports and destinations should hatch by 2030 and more than 3,000 aircraft could enter service in Europe by 2030. A vast project likely to create 90,000 jobs in Europe for the manufacture of aircraft and infrastructure. An announced success if we are to believe these figures, especially since according to the EASA, “  83% of citizens questioned in six European countries, including France, have a positive view of this new form of mobility  ”.

Like what, Anne Hidalgo, it also rhymes with “going higher”.
