A Child Finds The Tusk Of The Extinct Ocean Monster "Megalodon"
A child found the tusk of the extinct "Megalodon" shark, which is described as the "monster of the oceans", on the shore of Maryland in the United States.
The huge tooth, which is an artifact and was found by Molly Sampson (9 years old), belongs to “Megalodon”, which is 50 feet long and between 12 and 16 meters long, and lived more than 2.6 million years ago.
The girl's mother said her daughter had found more than 400 teeth, but the 5-inch tooth, which was pulled from the water last month, was the largest.
The British newspaper “Daily Mail” quoted the mother as saying: “My husband has searched for it all his life, we have always lived near the bay, so all our children have done it since they were young.”
The little girl has been looking for sharks since she was able to walk on the beach, but she always watches "Megalodon", and this is the sixth tooth of the ocean monster that Molly has found, but it is the largest.
According to the newspaper, the 5-inch tooth was transferred to the Calvert Maritime Museum, which confirmed the fossil's identity and allowed the girl free access to it when visiting the museum whenever she wanted.
For more than a century, scientists have tried to decipher the appearance of Megalodon, the largest shark that ever lived.
Scientists admit they still have no idea what the legendary creature looked like when it swam the seas between 15 and 3.6 million years ago.
In a new study, experts say all previously proposed body shapes for the giant "Megalodon" remain a matter of speculation, but the academics hope to find a massive skeleton - what they describe as the "ultimate treasure" - someday, which could Definitely reveals its shape.
