Researchers at Leiden University and Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands said that the first cultural revolution in human history occurred about 400,000 years ago.
The researchers confirmed that the first revolution began when the human ancestors began to set fire at a rapid pace, according to what was reported by the " EurekAlert " website.
The scientists stressed that "traces of the deliberate use of fire were found in many very ancient sites, where archaeological excavations were conducted, and the study indicated that the deliberate use of fire by humans is completely different from the perspective of assessing the state of intellectual development from the occurrence of fires automatically."
The spread of a particular cultural behavior such as the use of fire can be explained in several ways: "the movement to several places by an individual or a group, or migration of population, or the transfer of behavioral genes." In the absence of widespread environmental changes or genetic or fossil evidence of population movements during this period, scholars believe that cultural distribution resulting from movement to several places by an individual or group is the most plausible explanation for the widespread use of fire.
