Taroudant Province: Eigram community hosts the activities of the fourth session of the “Eigram Almond Festival”
The Egrim Community (Taroudant Province) will host, from August 11th to the 13th, the activities of the fourth session of the “Egrim Almond Festival” under the slogan: “The almond tree is a cultural heritage and a development bet, at the initiative of the Egrim Community.
According to the organizer, this event constitutes an annual date in which the association of belonging to the land learns from the depth of the Amazigh identity and culture, and combines achieving spectacle and winning the development wager by highlighting the natural and human qualifications that the Egerm region treasures.
The source added that this artistic and cultural event is an annual occasion to show the cultural uniqueness of the region, as the residents have always been loyal to the celebration of the “almond” tree, which is a natural and cultural heritage that occupies a well-established position among the residents.
He mentioned that the program of this course will include the organization of an exhibition of agricultural products, an exhibition of the cultural and artistic heritage of the region, and workshops for planting almond trees, in addition to organizing a road race, a ranking match and the final of the “Tedocla” league.
The program also includes a scientific symposium on the argan tree entitled: “Good Practices for the Production of Almonds”, and an intellectual symposium on: “The Stakes and Obstacles to Activating the Official Character of Amazigh”, and a training session for the benefit of the region’s cooperatives, in addition to an awareness campaign on maternal and child health. And the revival of artistic evenings, with the participation of a group of local and national bands.
It should be noted that this session is organized in partnership with the National Initiative for Human and Development, the Taroudant Provincial Council, the Chamber of Agriculture of the Souss-Massa Region, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Souss-Massa, the “EKED” Association for Culture and Development, and other partners.
