Scientists discover the mystery of “rain of diamonds” on the planets Neptune and Uranus
Uranus and Neptune are the most mysterious planets in the solar system, especially when it comes to the mystery of solid diamond rain, which is due to the two planets containing large quantities of methane gas, in addition to hydrogen and helium.
“Diamond Rain” on Neptune and Uranus
According to scientists, methane gas is transformed through thunderstorms into carbon atoms that float in the air, and with pressure and heat factors, it turns into giant atoms of carbon, and over time, the atoms turn into a solid state to form diamond rain.
According to scientists, methane gas constitutes a very large percentage of the atmosphere of the two blue planets, to the extent that it causes the creation of diamond oceans, the widespread demand on the planet, which greatly affects the planet’s magnetic fields and makes it tilt slightly off its axis by a degree.
