Amazighs and astronomy 3000 years ago
Some time ago, Moroccan researchers discovered ancient rock inscriptions in the village of Ida Okazou, south of the Moroccan city of Mokdor or Essaouira... These inscriptions document astronomy at that time and monitor some astronomical phenomena such as “the movement of the sun” and the fall of meteorites and an attempt to rationalize the phenomenon... which is This indicates the interest of the Amazighs, our ancient ancestors, in astronomy.
The results of the discovery were published in the international scientific journal Meteor News (Meteor_News), which is supervised by the International Meteor Organization, on November 18, 2018.
As for the discovery, it consists of three rocks engraved in Tifinagh with drawings of the sun, meteorites, and a creature likely to be a human. They were called “Ida1,” “Ida2,” and “Ida3.”
These stones were engraved in a very early period, belonging at least to the “Lipo-Berber” period... that is, at least three thousand years ago...
One of the inscriptions contains Tifinagh letters and Amazigh words. The word “ⵜⴼⴰⵓⵡⵜ” which reads “Tafaoat” can be clearly seen at the top in the right line. The word “Tafaoat” means sun and light in the Amazigh language, as well as the word “Azroa” which means “stone.” The inscriptions are more complex than ever to depict the process of the fall of the meteorite, which is Like a stone burning in space thanks to its tremendous speed, and it is believed that it is projected from the sun.
Of course, there are many readings among researchers.
The research team working on these rock inscriptions consists of researchers in archaeology who are interested in rock inscriptions... and researchers in graphology... especially Tifinagh Amazigh scripts... and researchers in geology... and researchers in astronomy among ancient humans... The matter concerns Abhi, the leader of the research team, a professor of meteorology at Ibn Zohr University in Agadir... Fouad Khairy, a researcher in the Crystals and Meteorites Laboratory at Ibn Zohr University... and Hassan Oknin, a doctoral researcher in meteorology at Ibn Zohr University... in addition to Al-Mahfouz Asmahari, a researcher at the institute. Royal College of the Amazigh Language in Rabat.. and Abdel Khaleq Lamjidi, member of the national office of the Moroccan Society of Petroglyphs (non-governmental)...
