The Rabat Chamber Of Commerce, Industry And Services Celebrates The Amazigh New Year Through An Intellectual Symposium
Yesterday, Friday, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region organized an intellectual symposium on the occasion of the Amazigh Year 2974, during which the discussion focused on the topic of the symbolism and major connotations of the Amazigh New Year, as well as the Amazigh economy and the current situation.

In turn, Professor Ahmed Assid stressed during his lecture that considering the Amazigh New Year an official holiday is an old demand, and it is the culmination of the process of institutionalizing the inclusion of the Amazigh language in state institutions since Ajdir’s speech, adding that Morocco is a country of cultural, religious and civilizational diversity and pluralism for thousands of years, so the transformations in the Moroccan state have moved us. Assid also stressed that the occasion of the Amazigh New Year has connotations, and the state must spread these connotations, as what gives us identity is something that is fixed and does not change, which is the national heritage, and it is very important because it strengthens the national feeling, as it is responsible for raising the productivity of society.
He added that the Moroccan state must give a budget for archaeological research of ancient cities, as Morocco is the capital of the world in archaeology according to the world’s testimony. All these discoveries that were discovered in Morocco mean historical antiquity, so we demand that the history of Morocco be re-read so that children in school can read these historical facts. Our demand is to complete the series.
