Sneferu, known as Severus in Greek (according to Manetho), founder of the Fourth Dynasty during the Old Kingdom. Estimates of the duration of his rule vary between 24 years and 48 years. His reign was characterized by the expansion of foreign trade, sending punitive expeditions, and mining campaigns. With his engineer and advisor Imhotep, he came up with the complete shape of the pyramid, where he built three pyramids that remain to this day, and can be visited in Dahshur.
Sneferu married Hetepheres, who is believed to have been the daughter of his previous pharaoh, Huni. His father-in-law may also have been his father, according to some researchers. According to this assumption, Huni gave birth to Hetepheres from a royal wife, while Sneferu gave birth to a slave girl. Therefore Bent marriage is was permissible to the throne.
