Babylon the Great
Babylon the Great 1---35
Babylon was one of the largest cities in the ancient world, but its gates and the architecture of its buildings were ahead of its time, due to the intensity of their beauty and the precision of their dazzling design.
Historians have considered it a city unparalleled in its grandeur, beauty, and size, as its area exceeded the city of Athens, the capital of Greek culture, by five times.
King Nebuchadnezzar II bragged about it, saying:
This is Babylon the Great, which I built by my power and the majesty of my glory
Jeremiah, who was one of the famous people of the Babylonian captivity, was also fascinated by it, describing it:
Babylon is a golden cup in the hand of the Lord, which has made the earth drunken
Aristotle, the Greek philosopher, considered it a marvel in its breadth and magnificence
As for Alexander the Great, he said about it:
“He who has not seen Babylon has not seen anything in his life.”
