Establishment Of The “Moroccan Chamber Of Amazigh Film Production”
The Moroccan cinema scene has recently been strengthened, with a new body called the “Moroccan Chamber of Amazigh Film Production,” at the initiative of film directors and producers.
A statement from the founders of the authority stated that this chamber, which is the first framework concerned with the advancement of the Amazigh cinematic sector, comes in line with the constitutional requirements regarding the Amazigh language and culture, and because of the importance of cinema in promoting Amazigh culture and identity.
This is to defend the professional interests of all professionals whose activity is the production of Amazigh cinematic films, as the Chamber seeks to unify the forces of producers, directors, and various artistic and technical crews working in the field of Amazigh cinema, and establish a sustainable system for this industry and improve their working conditions, as well as search for technical and logistical resources. To advance Amazigh cinema, by creating partnerships with various institutions, as well as contributing to organizing the cinematic field in general and Amazigh cinema in particular, and being open to all initiatives that would organize Amazigh cinematic production and defend its development.
The same source added that the establishment of the Moroccan Chamber of Moroccan Film Production comes in an effort to defend the professional interests of all professionals whose activity is the production of Amazigh films in particular.
According to the report, the Chamber aspires to unify the forces of producers, directors and various artistic and technical crews working in the field of Amazigh cinema, establish a sustainable system for this industry and improve their working conditions, as well as search for technical and logistical resources to advance Amazigh cinema, by creating partnerships with various institutions.
The Moroccan Chamber of Amazigh Film Production also aims to contribute to organizing the cinematic field in general and Amazigh cinema in particular, and to be open to all initiatives that would organize Amazigh cinematic production and defend its development.
The managing office of the Moroccan Chamber of Amazigh Cinema includes Ayoub Mahjoub as president, Ayoub Ait Bihi as vice president, Lahcen Farah as general secretary, Abdelhak El Hadioui as treasurer, and Abderrahmane Elalamy as advisor.
