Amazigh Mauritania
Amazigh Mauritania 1--1496
A picture from “Atmurtnag,” “our land,” or what is known as Mauritania, where the Amazigh people in this part of the Tamazgha land began to dust off their Amazigh identity and culture. Just as a reminder, the name of Mauritania is a Amazigh name, “Atmortnagh,” which is also pronounced “Amurtanna,” which means: our land! Also, three-quarters of the Arabic speakers in Mauritania are of Sanhaja origins (Sanhaja are famous Amazigh tribes). They were Arabized, like many of the Sahrawi Amazigh tribes. Until recently, Atmurtnag was part of Amornouakush (Morocco) before the arrival of the invaders and afterward colonization to dismantle the land of Tamazgha into Doulas are fighting among themselves... The Amazigh heritage exists historically and bears witness to the greatness of the Amazigh people in this vast Amazigh desert.
